During her time with the National Team, she won 3 Olympic Gold Medals and 5 World Championships and is currently the all-time leading goaltender with 83 games played, 64 wins and 29 shutouts. She was nominated to the Hockey Hall of Fame in the spring of 2020 and will be the first female goaltender to ever be inducted.
While at McGill (1998-2003) St-Pierre played an integral role in helping the Martlet program become the powerhouse that it is today. Kim was a four-time All Canadian, and was awarded with the Brodrick Trophy as CIS Player of the Year, the Gladys Bean Award as McGill’s female athlete of the year and the BLG JimThompson Trophy as CIS Athlete of the Year in 2003.
St-Pierre was also the first woman to play a full men's game, on November 15th 2003 when she helped McGill beat Ryerson by a score of 5-2. Kim, who was previously inducted to the McGill Sports Hall of Fame in 2014, followed two years later by a call from the Quebec Sports Hall of Fame, becomes the University's 11th former athlete to merit a berth in the Hockey Hall of Fame based in Toronto.
After graduation from McGill, Kim played for the Montreal Stars of the Canadian Women’s Hockey League (CWHL) from 2007 until 2011 with the exception of the 2010 season when she was centralized with the National Team in Calgary for the Vancouver Olympics.
In 2007-08, Kim was voted the CWHL Top Goaltender and a CWHL Eastern All-Star. By winning the 2009 Clarkson Cup, St-Pierre won the top three trophies in women’s hockey; the Clarkson Cup, and Olympic gold medal and a gold medal at the IIHF Women’s hockey Championships. St-Pierre won a second Clarkson Cup in 2011 with Montreal. The Team name was later changed to the Montreal Canadiennes before the CWHL ceased operation in 2019.
To overcome this challenge and work towards a Women’s professional league, the PWHPA (Professional Women’s Hockey Players Association) was created in 2019. Kim fully supports the PWHPA and their mission to promote and support a viable professional women’s ice hockey league that would showcase the best players in the world.
A proud mother of two boys Liam and Ayden, Kim and husband Lenny Jo Goudreau enjoy coaching their boys in hockey, soccer and baseball. Kim believes that playing a variety of sports is an essential part in the development process for young athletes.
As a professional, Kim is the Manager of Business Development for BOKS. A free physical activity program, BOKS is designed to get kids active and establish lifelong commitment to health and fitness.
Kim is a public speaker sharing her exceptional story through different channels such as media interviews, discussion panels and motivational conferences addressing a variety of themes such as dedication, perseverance and teamwork.
In addition, Kim is a hockey analyst at RDS and often appears during the Hockey 360 Show. Her hockey knowledge and experience play a large role in her ability to breakdown, analyze and explain the game.
